Understanding GUIDs
A Globally Unique Identifier (GUID) is Microsoft's name for a 128-bit identifier commonly used throughout .NET, Windows, databases, COM, and registry-based systems.
A random GUID is textually compatible with a UUID v4. Guid.Empty is the special all-zero value 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000, commonly used to represent an unset identifier.
